Last week, I declared our good friend Braden the world's youngest Larabar fan. Boy, was I wrong! Young? He's virtually a senior citizen compared to Jared Franklin of Southern California. Jared is 14 months old, and loves his Apple Pie Larabars! He lives with his mom, dad, and big brother Shane (who is 5 and also loves Larabars.) His parents discovered Larabars at their local natural foods grocer and haven't stopped snacking since. Jared says, "Thank you for the healthy sweet treats because my mommy never lets me have refined sugar!"
p.s. Jared likes to spend his spare time teaching high school calculus and writing epic poetry. A fan of classic radio programs, Jared is a freelance journalist and adjunct professor at USC.

Meet Monkey, the greatest Welsh Terrier in the whole world. Monkey's the official canine mascot, Los Angeles division, for Larabar. And he absolutely loves the new line of Maya bars. His verdict: two paws up. Way up! Woof woof.

America, meet Braden: the country's youngest (to date) Larabar fan. He'll be 3 in June, and loves Larabars, especially the ones with chocolate in them! [Braden, wait till you try Maya; you'll become a junkie.] He went skiing for the first time last week, and his parents made sure he brought a couple Chocolate Coconut Larabars with them for snacks! Braden loves to read books about Curious George and is a big fan of Wallace & Gromit. He has a younger sister, Avery, who is 9 months old. Braden claims she is too little to have any of his Larabars!
p.s. Braden speaks six languages, and was recently recruited by the Colorado Rockies to play first base. He has a 167 IQ, and currently spends his time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. It's all about community service, folks.

Perhaps it's my age or my fondness for nostalgia, but I truly believe there are few films more magical and amazingly written (trust me on this one) than 'The Muppet Movie.' I highly encourage readers to watch this gem: If you haven't seen the film recently, then reserve an evening where you can truly enjoy all the celebrity cameos (including Orson Welles, Bob Hope, Steve Martin, Edgar Bergen and many others), memorable songs and witty dialogue. The Muppets sort of represent a bygone era, a time when Saturday morning cartoons reigned supreme, Halloween was virtually holy, dirt bikes filled the driveway, and summer seemed like it would last forever. Now, that's childhood! Send in your stories about your favorite Muppets. Question: which Larabar flavors would go well with which Muppets? Email me your answers at lewis@larabar.com
